Fabrizio Romano has just delivered an update on the future of Nuno Espirito Santo

Fabrizio Romano has now shared an update on the future of Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Forest beat Burnley 2-1 at Turf Moor yesterday to ensure a third successive campaign in the top flight.

The Reds spent just 12 days in the bottom three of the Premier League and after a four-point deduction, the club have achieved mission accomplished.

Steve Cooper was replaced by Espirito Santo in December and managed to get the club over the line.

Now, Romano has delivered some information on the future of the boss and the City Ground outfit are making plans for next season.

Fabrizio Romano delivers update on Nuno Espirito Santo

The transfer guru has taken to social media this morning to deliver an update on the Forest head coach.

It’s believed that his future might not be secure beyond the summer and talks are being planned with Espirito Santo.

Romano has posted on X: “Understand Nuno Espirito Santo’s future at Nottingham Forest is still open after keeping #NFFC in the Premier League.

“The Portuguese manager will discuss with the club soon in order to decide the next steps, but there’s a chance he could leave Forest.”

Espirito Santo has achieved around 1.15 points per game on Trentside and managed to win six Premier League matches.

Forest should give Cooper replacement chance to truly prove himself

This would be a completely bonkers move by Forest.

Espirito Santo has done everything that has been asked of him and ensured Premier League football for another season.

Now, Forest need stability and Espirito Santo knows what he’s doing as a head coach in the top flight.

The 50-year-old deserves the chance to shape the squad how he sees fit.

Forest pushing reset once again wouldn’t make a deal of sense.

In our view, Forest have to weigh up who there is better that they could get to replace Espirito Santo.

The Reds have just finished 17th in the Premier League. Ultimately, there probably won’t be an elite manager wanting the job.

For now, Forest are in safe hands with Espirito Santo and he deserves the chance to take Forest to the next level during 2024/25.
