Anthony Elanga sends message to ‘extraordinary’ player after Nottingham Forest’s last game this season

Anthony Elanga has sent an intriguing message to a Nottingham Forest teammate after a 2-1 win over Burnley yesterday afternoon.

The curtain came down on the 2023/24 campaign at Turf Moor, with Forest coming out on top.

Elanga was in the thick of the action inside the first two minutes when he teed up Chris Wood to score his first of two goals.

The player signed from Manchester United and at £15 million, he’s proved very good value for money.

Elanga has finished his maiden campaign at the City Ground with five goals and nine assists to his name and there is reason for optimism.

After the game, fans took to social media and Elanga posted a very interesting message to one of his Forest teammates.

What Anthony Elanga posted to Morgan Gibbs-White after Forest win

Hopefully, this is nothing but the wording used by Elanga in his post to Gibbs-White is of cause for concern.

The player has been linked with West Ham and Tottenham already and Forest will likely need to sell one of their star players.

Gibbs-White has managed 10 assists this season and once again he’s kicked on in the red of Forest.

At the end of last season, Gibbs-White was called ‘extraordinary’ by Garth Crooks and he’s a player with bags of potential.

After the game, the player posted on social media a huge thank you to the Forest supporters and Elanga commented.

He said on Instagram: “Loved playing with you, bro.”

The past-tense nature of the comment has got some fans up in arms and hopefully, he simply used the word ‘loved’ as the season is now done.

The Reds must keep Gibbs-White this summer

This is a worry but it’s no surprise that Gibbs-White is attracting interest.

The player has been in fine form during 2023/24 and he just never seems to be injured!

Forest will face a fight to keep hold of a number of their players amid financial fair play but Gibbs-White will command a huge transfer fee.

With that in mind, perhaps Forest will keep hold of Gibbs-White – but they will have a job on their hands.

What the Reds have to consider is which of their current crop are easier to replace.

Murillo has also been linked with a number of clubs and perhaps replacing a central defender could be easier than finding an alternative to Gibbs-White.

Elanga’s comments will naturally spark some concerns but hopefully, Gibbs-White can remain in the Garibaldi at Forest next season.
