Dept. Of Justice Investigating Dodgers Over Recruitment Of Cuban-Born Players
After losing the World Series to the Boston Red Sox, the Los Angeles Dodgers now find themselves under a Department of Justice investigation.Dodgers Under DOJ InvestigationSports Illustrated reported Monday that the team’s recruitment of Cuban-born players may be a form of corruption under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The Dodgers allegedly appear multiple times in a document given to the FBI by a whistleblower.The FCPA makes it illegal to bribe foreign officials, even if it’s legal in that country.
