EU sanctions imposed on Formula 1 driver Nikita Mazepin have been quashed by the EU courts in a judgment released today (20 March). In March 2022, Mazepin was barred from entering the EU and had funds frozen in retaliation for Russia’s war in Ukraine. Lewis Hamilton shocked the motorsports world when the seven-time Formula One champion said he will leave Mercedes at the end of the season to join Ferrari - a team which had tried to land Hamilton before he signed his latest contract extension with the Silver Arrows. Brazilian racing legend Nelson Piquet formally apologized to British racer Lewis Hamilton for using an epithet that is considered to be a racial slur. The comments were made during an interview with Motorsport Talk‘s Ricardo Oliveira about Hamilton’s incident with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen at the British Grand Prix last year.
