Rudy Giuliani at City Hall (photo: Kristen Artz/mayor's office) As Rudy Giuliani melts down – at times literally – in his desperate crusade to steal the election for his soundly defeated First Client, there has been much speculation about how “America’s Mayor” could have deteriorated into this spectacle. Whatever may be going on with Rudy Giuliani personally, let’s be clear: while, for one brief moment in his career he served as a cheerleader for a devastated city and a shocked nation, the rest of Rudy Giuliani’s mayoralty was driven by a hostility to free expression, police brutality and viol...

Rudy Giuliani, from 'America's Mayor' to Trump's conspiracy monger
New York (AFP) - The hair coloring melting down the sides of his face while he declared long-dead Venezuelan caudillo Hugo Chavez caused President Donald Trump's election defeat made one thing clear -- Rudy Giuliani is no longer "America's Mayor."The accolade Giuliani earned for his calm fortitude in leading New York City after the September 11, 2001 attacks has dissolved in a series of increasingly bizarre claims that Democrats, the media, and yes, the late Venezuelan dictator, had robbed Trump of reelection. His press conference Thursday, pushing election conspiracy theories without any evide...
Rudy Giuliani: From America's Mayor to America's Hack to America's Punchline
Let’s face it. Someday there likely will be a Netflix movie about Rudy Giuliani who has gone from being “America’s Mayor” after the leadership and reassurance he offered in the immediate 9/11 aftermath, to one more political hack when he ran for President — and now to a punchline. And a pernicious toxic force in both politics and the world of facts.Seldom have we seen a public figure move from such a lofty perch in the public perception to a figure of ridicule and an instant punchline. We’ve seen public perceptions radically change before. Note O.J. Simpson (the murder trial), Mel Gibson (film...
