Adam Schefter believes the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft will make history. The NFL insider for ESPN went to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday morning to make a big prediction. “There never has been an NFL draft with more than 19 offensive players picked in the first round; that happened three times, most recently in 2009,” Schefter wrote. “But this draft is likely to set the record for most offensive players ever picked in round one.” The NFL is an offense-driven league, so 20 offensive players drafted wouldn’t be a big surprise. Schefter’s prediction goes in line with what he said...

If you’re anything like me, April 27-29 will be your version of Christmas. And no, I’m not being hyperbolic. On a professional level, it’s the culmination of hundreds of hours spent watching film. In some ways, it’ll be the deciding factor of a few friendly debates I’ve had with several other talent evaluators. But to be honest, long before I was making a living evaluating players, I treated the NFL Draft like a personal holiday. I’ve been obsessed with football since I came out of the womb, and I’ve been a film junkie ever since I was old enough to comprehend that the game was more than simpl...

Following his trade-less NFL Draft weekend—one which did see the team entertain some offers, albeit low-ball efforts—Deebo Samuel is still a San Francisco 49er. For how long? That all depends. Samuel, of course, wants out of San Fran and has even requested a trade. However, “[n]othing’s changed,” GM John Lynch said Saturday. On Sunday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler seemed to confirm as much. “It appears he is still dug in, still wants to be traded despite getting through the draft,” the report said. “But he knows this could be a long wait now that the 49ers did not do a deal … The Jets were the stronge...

If you’ve ever wondered why teams take the entire 10 minutes while on the clock at the NFL Draft, it’s because the NFL so desires. Just ask the Detroit Lions. Last week’s spectacle saw the Jacksonville Jaguars select Travon Walker with the top choice, which gave the Lions 10 minutes to decide the second pick—they only needed about 60 seconds to take Michigan DE Aidan Hutchinson. “We turned the card in so fast the league got mad at us,” a Lions official reportedly told NBC Sports’ Peter King. So…yeah. That’s how the NFL rolls. Hutchinson was born in Michigan, was a Wolverine, and—get this—was a...

As most Husker fans know by now, Samori Toure was chosen in the 7th round of the NFL draft Saturday as the 258th overall pick. Most sports fans like to root for the underdog, especially if they don't have a dog in the fight. It makes sense. David needs all the support he can get to take down Goliath. Such might be the case with former Husker wide receiver, Samori Toure. As most Husker fans know by now, Toure was chosen in the 7th round of the NFL draft Saturday as the 258th overall pick. When there are only 262 possible slots, coming in at #258 might not look too great. But consider the route ...
