Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are surging up the 2025 national recruiting rankings following the addition of 2025 Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North wide receiver Isaiah Mozee earlier this week. With Mozee in the fold Junior Adams and the Ducks now have three talented wide receivers in the fold for this cycle, a haul that is among the best in the country. Things are expecting to heat up on the recruiting trail between now and the annual spring game for Oregon on April 27. On the latest episode of the Ducks Dish Podcast, Max Torres takes a deep-dive into this commitment and what it means for Oregon on...

If you asked most young offensive linemen in college football, following in the footsteps of a Rimington Trophy winner would be intimidating. But that’s not the case for Iapani ‘Poncho’ Laloulu. In fact, it’s far from it. The sophomore earned his first college start at center in Oregon’s 45-6 win over the Liberty Flames in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, a game that also signified a passing of the torch. With each snap of the ball he stepped into the legacy that Jackson Powers-Johnson added to before him. A legacy of great center play at Oregon. The Honolulu, Hawaii native is attacking his new role in O...

One of the biggest goals for Oregon’s defense ahead of the 2024 season is evolving its pass rush. The Ducks brought down the opposing quarterback 34 times last year, as Brandon Dorlus led the way with five of his own. Maintaining, and more importantly elevating that mark won’t be easy for a group that loses four veterans along the defensive line. Fortunately for Tosh Lupoi and Tony Tuioti, the Ducks return a trio of rising edge rushers that flashed plenty of promise almost instantly after seeing the field. True sophomore Blake Purchase is one third of that trio (Matayo Uiagalelei and Teitum Tu...

One of the more intriguing stories of the offseason was the transfer of Oregon State kicker Atticus Sappington to Oregon. Sappington has been one of the most accurate kickers in the country. The bigger interest about this move might be Sappington the person. He’s a big weight lifter, car guy and likes the stock market. He also has been dubbed ‘Automaticus’ as a kicker. You can read his top comments below or watch the video at the bottom. On Nickname “Automaticus”: “It really came at Oregon State and the Oregonian guy spurned it. It’s an honor to have the nickname. I take pride in that and bein...

The 2024 NFL Draft has more than its fair share of top receivers whether you’re talking at the top or with depth at the position. Oregon WR Troy Franklin is evidence of that based on Joel Klatt’s evaluation of him for the next level. Klatt listed Franklin amongst his Top-50 prospects in this draft during an episode of his show a week ago. Him being 36th on the list, after already naming a handful within the first few choices and several left to go, showed Klatt just how deep the position group is that’s coming out this year. “I’m going to go to 36 – wide receiver Troy Franklin from Oregon,” sa...

It’s been an exciting morning here on ScoopDuck. We are beyond thrilled to announce the addition of Max Torres to our team. Max has done such a tremendous job on his journey to get to the spot he’s currently in. Originally he started with us here at ScoopDuck as an unpaid intern but quickly climbed the ladder. Just as it is in coaching, you want to see writers grow their careers and advance. And Max has done that with his own hard work and brand creation. I have had the privilege of working with Max for several years already and watched him grow. Even though he stepped away from ScoopDuck for ...

It’s like I always say on the Ducks Dish Podcast. “And we’re back. Like we never left!” I couldn’t be more excited to share that I have returned to ScoopDuck after three years, and this time I’m joining with the backing of On3 Sports. If you don’t know my story, I’ll catch you up. It got started back in 2018 when I started my sportswriting career on ScoopDuck during my college days at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Because there wasn’t much to read about Oregon football in the summer, I grew very curious about how college football coaches build their teams: that’s where recruiting ...

Dan Lanning and Junior Adams have landed another big piece to the 2025 class. This time sticking with the theme on offense and at wide receiver. Oregon holds on to five-star Dallas Wilson currently and added four-star Cooper Perry last week. This week they add Lee’s Summit North (Mo.) wide receiver Isaiah Mozee. The 6-foot, 190-pounder is the No. 214 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the No. 27 ranked receiver in the 2025 class. ***Eval: Breaking down Isaiah Mozee*** Mozee committed to Oregon over Missouri and Oklahoma among his 25+ offer list. The Ducks were able to lean on a ...
