Not long after the Sony World Photography Award Creative Category winner was announced last year, the victor came clean with a surprising revelation. German photographer Boris Eldagsen admitted that his first prize-winning photograph ‘The Electrician’ was actually an AI-generated image. Eldagsen had created the image using the popular AI-image creating tool DALL-E 2. He turned down the prize, citing his motivation for entering to see if “competitions are prepared for AI images. They are not.” A year on from his famous refusal, the Palmer Gallery in London is hosting an exhibition of his and ot...

However, this year, the ongoing six-month conflict in Gaza has cast a somber shadow over the c...

The clenched teeth. The furrowed brow. The bulging biceps. Europeans raised their eyebrows when two moody black and white photos of French President Emmanuel Macron letting loose on a punching bag were posted to Instagram by his official photographer, Soazig de la Moissonnière. In no time, social media users couldn't help but draw comparisons between Macron and the legendary fictional boxer Rocky Balboa. A photo of a barnacle-covered football has snatched the top prize in this year’s British Wildlife Photography Awards. Photographer Ryan Stalker found the ball washed up on the Isle of Portland, Dorset, off England’s south coast. As goose barnacles are not native to the UK, he believes it had made an epic journey across the Atlantic Ocean, spurred on by powerful storms. Above the water, it just looks like a regular football. But just below the surface, a colony of goose barnacles clings to its underside - a poignant reminder of the impact of human-caused pollution on the ocean’s delicate ecosys...
