German sportswear maker Puma said on Thursday it plans to return up to 50% of its net income to shareholders through buyback programmes and dividends. Accordingly, the company changed its dividend policy to a payout ratio of 25% to 40% of net income. Previously it was 25% to 35%. The company will initiate a share buyback programme which will bring the total payout ratio to 50% of its net earnings by complementing the dividend policy by another 10 to 15%. The German footwear, apparel and accessories company PUMA signed a long-term contract with RB Leipzig, the Bundesliga football team, to supply it with sports kits, the company announced on Tuesday. The kits will be for the men's, women's, and youth teams from the 2024-25 season onwards. PUMA secured wide-ranging rights for sponsorship, merchandising, match day advertising in the Red Bull Arena and the RB Leipzig Football Academy, as well as digital activations, the company said. PUMA will also equip RB Leipzig's esports team.
