German Cycling Coach Dismissed From Olympics Over Racist Comment
German cycling coach Patrick Moster was sent home from the Tokyo Olympics after a racist comment during the men’s road time trial. Moster was heard shouting a derogatory slur targeting Middle Eastern people towards German cyclist Nikias Arndt during the time trial event. The head of the German Olympic Sports Confederation confirmed that Moster would “no longer perform his duties as part of the cycling team.” The decision to send Moster home was reported to DOSB’s website within a day of the incident.
