Transport alone is set to make up almost half of Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2030, a new analysis from campaign group Transport & Environment (T&E) has found. Emissions from transport across the continent have increased by more than a quarter since 1990 despite overall emissions being in decline. Since its peak in 2007, transport has been decarbonising more than three times slower than the rest of the economy, T&E found. “The good news is transport emissions in Europe have peaked. The bad news is other sectors are decarbonising three times faster,” says William Todts, executive direct...

Jose Cruz Noguez was taken into custody while entering the US Monday after being identified to law enforcement by another susp...

Los Angeles (AFP) - All 13 people killed when a packed vehicle collided with a truck in California are believed to have entered the US illegally through a nearby breach in the Mexico border fence, US authorities said Wednesday. A 10-foot gap in the frontier barrier was found around an hour before officials learned of Tuesday morning's deadly crash, which took place around 30 miles from the border rift. Initial investigations "indicate a potential nexus to the aforementioned breach in the border wall," said El Centro Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino in a statement. Surveillance footage ...
