The Italian government has reiterated that the sliding events at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan/Cortina d'Ampezzo must take place in the country and not be moved elsewhere. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that "it is not acceptable for the bobsleigh races to be held outside Italy" and that the council of ministers was to adopt an according rule.
