Stryker: Find consistency, lose the drama, emphasize the run, solve special teams
Just a little over three years ago, Bill Moos hired Scott Frost as head coach at Nebraska. In that span, Frost has produced three sub-.500 teams, and appears to have aged about a decade. His lack of success on the field seems to be weighing heavily on him. The good news is that Frost can do a lot to change that situation; the question is whether he will. The redemption of the Nebraska football program is still pending; it did not emerge from the pandemic in 2020, as I thought it would. I expected the Huskers to win at least five games during their Coronavirus-shortened season. That would have ...

Husker Dan: Huskers Say Bye-Bye to 2020
Right after the final Husker schedule of 2020 was announced in September, I thought the Huskers were looking at a 4-2-2 season. FOURIt looked as if there were 4 winnable games: Purdue, Minnesota, Illinois and Northwestern. TWO AND TWOI also thought there were 2 toss-up games: Iowa and Wisconsin. (The Wisconsin game was canceled by the Badgers due to COVID issues.) And it seemed like a good bet the Huskers would lose to both Ohio State and Penn State. It looked like the Huskers might eke out a 4-win season, considering the strength of their schedule. So when the Huskers beat Penn State, that wa...

Overview: By 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period, all 19 of Nebraska’s High School commitments had signed and faxed their National Letters of Intent. At least a dozen of those signees will enroll early and be in Lincoln in January. The class is currently ranked No. 25 nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. That number will shift a few spots come February as teams add players during the traditional signing period. Nebraska will likely be one of those teams. During his signing day press conference, Frost told reporters “I do expect to add one, mayb...
