I hope we don't destroy what he helped create at NEbraska This week I'm bringing out a short snippet of the Dr. Tom interview from "Through These Gates" to share because I think it's an interesting thing to talk about with the state of Husker football being what it is. In the above video, which you should watch first just so you can follow my thought process, Coach Osborne talks about the first games he saw at Memorial Stadium. He watched from the stands, he watched from the knothole section, and now he watches from his multimillion-dollar suite. It's like the Husker version of Eminem's career...

Coaches, fans and Nebraska players are wondering what’s going on. By Husker Dan. Most Husker fans found out Friday morning that Bill Moos was stepping down as the Husker athletic director effective July 1. His retirement came as a bit of a surprise, especially since his contract runs until the end of 2022. So why now? Why so quickly? And why no press conference? READ ON

The Ohio State transfer’s lack of playing time for the Buckeyes doesn’t mean he’s short on talent and potential. Nebraska came out of spring ball with two scholarships still available to fulfill the Huskers’ their 25 initial counters for 2021. Of the positions the staff wanted to address, defensive back was top priority. One of the top targets when he became available was former Ohio State defensive back Tyreke Johnson. READ ON

By Kaleb Henry. There are 99 days until the start of the 2021 Nebraska football season. As we flip the countdown from triple to double digits, here is what we know and don’t know. We know the schedule The Huskers open the season at Illinois August 28. The non-conference schedule features Fordham (September 4) and Buffalo (September 11) before a road trip to Oklahoma (September 18). For as much panic as it caused Husker faithful and all the fodder it gave national pundits, the NU-OU game was never seriously in doubt. ....

This is the first in a series that will address Five Big Red Flags that if not addressed by the time of the Husker football opener August 28th, could limit the success of the Nebraska Cornhusker football team this season. QUESTION 1.) QB Adrian Martinez will likely be the starter come fall, but will he have improved enough to reverse NU’s trend of four consecutive losing seasons? (Mike Riley’s 2017 season was also a losing season.) And who will be Martinez’s backup? BIG RED FLAG #1 (THE QB ROOM) Going into the 2019 season, the QB corps looked to be fairly solid. The depth chart included two ye...

It’s been a hot button topic during the young offseason. With two scholarships still available to maximize Nebraska’s 25 initial counters in 2021, should Frost look to add a quarterback? During his postgame press conference following Saturday’s spring game, Frost indicated he would likely look elsewhere to use those last two scholarships. I think it would be wise for him to keep his eyes and mind open to adding to Mario Verduzco’s room. Nebraska could use another veteran in the mix, but I agree with most pundits that Frost would be hard-pressed to find one who’s willing to come to Lincoln only...

There were signs. Interstate 80 traffic heading southwest from Omaha was busy. As you got into Lincoln, there were more signs. Lots of signs. Approaching Memorial Stadium, something seemed familiar, almost comforting. The signs said things like, “Game Parking $25.” Or, “Lot Full.” After a year of pandemic-induced isolation, it appeared that life was returning to the Haymarket. At least, it looked like the early stages of reinvigoration. Once they made their way into the stadium and spread out, the crowd of 36,406 looked more like a skimpy layer of red frosting on a sugar cookie than the iconic...
