2021 Sign Arrives In Times Square For Fanless New Year Eve’s Countdown
Time to pop out the champagne and celebrate the end of 2020, but that New Year’s Eve celebration may not look like it usually does. In a very 2020 manner, there will be an empty Times Square when the clock strikes midnight next week. The famed ball will still drop in New York City’s most famous tourist attraction, but for the first time since its creation in 1907, there will be no spectators. The entire celebration will be live-streamed online, along with various TV specials, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
