A Florida bride and caterer have been arrested after an investigation into her wedding concluded that they likely served multiple guests food laced with cannabis without their knowledge. The bride, Danya Svoboda and wedding caterer, Joycelyn Bryant, were charged with tampering, culpable negligence and delivery of marijuana. This is in relation to the food served at the Svoboda’s wedding ceremony on February 19 at The Springs Clubhouse in Longwood, Florida. Menu items prepared by Bryant’s company, Joycelyn’s Southern Kitchen, included lasagna, chocolate-covered strawberries and pudding “shots.”...

A laboratory study from Oregon State University showed that compounds found in cannabis helped prevent the Covid-19 virus from entering human cells. Stoners shouldn’t get too excited, however. The two compounds– cannabigerolic acid or CBGA, and cannabidiolic acid or CBDA– were the ones identified in the study and are found in hemp, which is a class of cannabis grown for non-recreational use. Hemp is used as a fiber for clothes, food and animal feed, and is a key ingredient in many cosmetic and nutritional products.
