The Houston Astros have agreed to a one-year $25 million contract with right-hander Justin Verlander with the option for a second season. Verlander won the American League Cy Young Award for Houston in 2019. He made just one appearance during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season due to injuries. Aaron Rodgers, the reigning NFL MVP, reportedly declined a two-year offer from the Green Bay Packers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
