One of the biggest events in Formula 1 racing was marred by aggressive, inappropriate and flat-out disgusting fans. On Saturday, fans reportedly were accused of harassment in many different forms at the Austrian Grand Prix. So much so that F1 has publicly come out with a statement condemning the vile acts that took place at the race. Brazilian racing legend Nelson Piquet formally apologized to British racer Lewis Hamilton for using an epithet that is considered to be a racial slur. The comments were made during an interview with Motorsport Talk‘s Ricardo Oliveira about Hamilton’s incident with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen at the British Grand Prix last year.
