Quarterback Trevor Lawrence helped lead the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 31-24 win against the New Orleans Saints. Lawrence, who was dealing with a sprained knee coming into the Thursday Night Football game, finished 20 for 29 passing for 204 yards and a touchdown. Lawrence also ran a career-best 59 yards rushing on eight carries. Lawrence himself was quite surprised at how well he was able to run. “Golly, it’s crazy how you have something like that going on, you don’t plan on moving a lot, and you end up running the ball more than I usually do. I’m really, really happy. That was the goal. Play,...

The Jacksonville Jaguars need a new stadium temporarily, as the renovations for their current stadium, TIAA Bank Field will take them out for at least two seasons. The announcement was made official as they tweeted a video about the future plans for a revamped stadium that is projected to cost over $1 billion. Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry told Jacksonville sports radio (1010xl) last month, “The team could play its home games elsewhere for two seasons…The goal would be to play somewhere in Jacksonville” for 2025 and 2026. “Those discussions are happening, but two years is the goal. … I do kno...

Urban Meyer spoke out for the first time since being fired from the Jacksonville Jaguars last week during an appearance on NFL Network. He didn’t take responsibility for the disappointing record or allegations against him for the way he treated players and staff. Instead, he deflected the blame onto NFL culture. “I think everything is so fragile right now. And that includes coaching staffs. When I got into coaching, coaches weren’t making this kind of money and they didn’t have agents. Everything is so fragile where it used to be team, team, team. I remember talking about it in a staff meeting...

A new testimony from the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ former kicker, Josh Lambo, may be what solidified the decision to fire Urban Meyer. “I’m in a lunge position. Left leg forward, right leg back,” Lambo told The Tampa Bay Times. “Urban Meyer, while I’m in that stretch position, comes up to me and says, ‘Hey Dips–t, make your f–king kicks!’ And kicks me in the leg.” Lambo went on to call Meyer a bully, which corroborates other stories, even dating back to Meyer’s relationships with assistant coaches at Florida and Ohio State. “Truthfully, I’d register it as a five (out of 10). Which in the workplace...

Urban Meyer was fired overnight after a tumultuous 11 months as the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ head coach. Meyer’s first year with the Jags wasn’t pretty. The team sits at 2-11, which does not live up to the expectations placed on the team at the beginning of the season. Urban Meyer and No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence were supposed to be the turning point for a struggling team. Jags’ owner Shad Khan released a statement early this morning. “After deliberation over many weeks and a thorough analysis of the entirety of Urban’s tenure with our team, I am bitterly disappointed to arrive at the concl...

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer is under fire this week after a video that surfaced Monday showed a young woman dancing close to his lap at his restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. Meyer, 57, apologized in a team meeting on Monday and also said it was “stupid” to put himself in such a compromising position last Friday, one day after the Jaguars’ 24-21 loss at Cincinnati. “I just apologized to the team and staff for being a distraction,” Meyer said. “Just stupid, and so I explained everything that happened and owned it. Just stupid. Should not have myself in that kind of position.” Meyer d...

Tim Tebow’s attempted return to the NFL has been cut short as the Jacksonville Jaguars have released the former quarterback attempting to make the roster a tight end. Tebow went to Twitter after the news broke to express his gratitude. On May 20, Tebow signed a one-year contract to play tight end for the Jaguars. He seemed to start well. However, when contact was implemented into practice, his lack of blocking experience was a major setback. “We knew that was an uphill battle for Tim,” head coach Urban Meyer said. “Players loved him, locker room loved him, but it was the right thing.” Tebow pl...

Many fans were anticipating the start of the Jacksonville Jaguars preseason game on Saturday. Perhaps it was for the number one pick Trevor Lawrence making his debut. Actually, it was for Tim Tebow. So many fans were anticipating seeing how Tebow would do as a tight end. However, Tebow was not on the highlights for his skill at the position. Tebow played 16 snaps in the 23-13 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The newly turned tight e...

The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded a late-round draft compensation to the Jacksonville Jaguars for linebacker Joe Schobert. The linebacker signed a five-year, $53.75 million contract with the Jaguars last offseason. In his lone season with the Jaguars, he recorded 141 combined tackles with the team. It was the second-best of his career, only three tackles short of matching his Pro Bowl 2017 season. Schobert is due $7.3 million in guaranteed base salary for the 2021 season. The former fourth-round pick has recorded 549 career tackles, 11 sacks, nine interceptions, 24 passes defended, nine forc...
