Washington (AFP) - The United States will extend its rotation of a heavy tank battalion in Lithuania, which sees no reduction in the threat from Russia since Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, Lithuanian officials said Friday. Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas said that the battalion, in the town of Pabrade since 2019, will stay at least until the start of 2026. Vilnius (AFP) - Russian troops on Ukraine's border are "uncoiling" and "poised to strike", US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on Saturday during a visit to Lithuania. "They are uncoiling and are now poised to strike," he said, adding that troops were "moving into the right kinds of positions to be able to conduct an attack".
