Police in Germany were examining "vast quantities" of digital media on Thursday after carrying out a series of searches relating to child pornography in the eastern city of Halle. A police spokesman said that that a large haul of computer media had been found during the raids. Prohibited weapons and small quantities of illegal drugs were also seized. Police in Zimbabwe have freed 251 children from a sect which allegedly exploited them as cheap labour. A court on Thursday ordered the remand into custody of eight men who describe themselves as prophets. They are accused of violating child protection laws.
