ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia is headed to the NCAA Regional finals after hammering UNC-Wilmington 11-2 on Saturday night. The Bulldogs blasted a pair of home runs and pitched out of multiple jams to move to 2-0 as the host of the regional. Colton Smith got the start but did not get the win as he went 4.1 innings and allowed two earned runs on six walks and four hits while striking out five. DJ Radtke earned his first win of the season as Slate Alford went three for five at the dish and Colby Branch had a big fly and drove in four. Georgia drew first blood with its first batter of the game. Lead-off m...

June 1 marks one month until the SEC grows by two. Texas and Oklahoma are joining the league – expanding it to 16 – and with their addition, things are only going to get tougher. Kirby Smart knows that’s true. The Georgia head coach was asked about the addition of the Longhorns and Sooners during SEC Spring Meetings, and it’s easy for him to acknowledge they’ll be tests for the Bulldogs for years to come. “Yeah, it’s extremely tough. The fact that they’re in our conference, they’re further away, they’re a powerful football team, they’ve got a great state to recruit in, both their coaching staf...

The month of June is here, and that means talking season is upon us. With the only sort of significant football news that seems to come out being from official visits and camps – both of which are recruiting related – folks around the country are left only to share takes ahead of the 2024 season and draw up storylines for what’s to come. That’s exactly the kind of thing that happens with anonymous coach quotes. Athlon Sports released quotes from SEC coaches about their conference foes this week. The ones on Georgia were quite complimentary, as you might expect for the preseason No. 1 team. Whe...

Georgia men’s basketball coach Mike White told members of the UGA Athletics Association Board of Directors that the Bulldogs had locked up a player last week and expected an announcement in the near future. On Wednesday morning, that decision became public knowledge as 2024 combo guard Jordyn Kee announced his commitment to the Dawgs. Kee chose Georgia over announced finalists Florida State, Georgetown, Michigan and Missouri along with Bryant. Other schools that showed interest included High Point, NC State and Florida Atlantic. For Mike White and his now-complete staff, it’s back to the basics this year in Athens. Instead of looking at the big picture and discussing it daily, the Georgia Bulldogs are going to see where putting their heads down and going to work takes them in 2024-25. “We’ve always focused on being process-driven and staying in the moment. There are a ton of cliches, but it’s something that’s been really important to me that I’ve really, really believed in and challenged our entire program with year in and year out,” White told members of the University of Georgia Athletics Association Board of Direct...

ATHENS, Ga. — In recent years at Georgia, Memorial Day, a.k.a. “Selection Monday” in the world of College Baseball, has been spent sweating out a bracket selection to see if the Bulldogs were in the field of 64. Of course the 2020 tournament didn’t happen because of COVID, but in 2021 and 2023, UGA was left on the outside looking in. In 2022, Georgia made it but was sent to Chapel Hill for a regional and was bounced before the regional final. This year, things were different. Georgia was announced as a regional host on Sunday night. Instead of waiting to find out if they’d make it at all, Mond...
