The Cannes Film Festival unveiled the list of the 19 films in the main competition on Thursday. Francis Ford Coppola, Yórgos Lánthimos, David Cronenberg, Jacques Audiard, Paul Schrader and Paolo Sorrentino are among the directors with films in contention for the Palme d'Or prize for best picture. It is already known that "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," the sequel to George Miller's cult film series, will be screened out of competition.
