Prices in Hungary picked up slightly in April, after declining for more than a year; the annual inflation was 3.7% from an over 3-year low of 3.6% in the previous month, according to the Hungarian Central Statistical Office. Italy's CPI inflation figure was unchanged in the month to March while the rate of price increases came in at 1.2% on an annual basis, according to data released by the country's official statistics agency on Tuesday. Earlier forecasts had predicted a 1.3% annual rise in March, while the monthly increase was also expected to come in slightly higher, at 0.1%. Irish consumers will be seeing price hikes for a range of fuels, as well as mobile, broadband and television connections from Monday 1 April. Spanish inflation picked up in March, consumer prices rose by 3.2% compared to the previous year, following the previous month's 2.8%, according to a flash estimate from the National Statistics Institute (INE). The EU-harmonised CPI in Spain rose by 1.3% in March compared to the previous month, following a 0.4% increase in February. US diesel exports to Europe almost halved in February to 6.65 million barrels, down from 11.44 million barrels in January, according to analysis by ship tracking firm Kpler. The drop in supply was driven by technical failures and planned refurbishments at US refineries, which has cut output to 10% below the prior five-year's seasonal average.
