Each week during the off-season we dive into a question of the week. This week I threw out one that almost always generates a good conversation, ranking the Iowa football schedule from toughest to easiest. What makes this interesting is that when you dive into it, there is a realization that the talk of Iowa potentially being a bit of a sleeper team in the College Football Playoff conversation. Earlier this month, Andy Staples from On3.com brought up this fact on his daily show. “Iowa is in that weird position of a Big Ten team, that didn’t get a terrible Big Ten schedule draw and it’s realist...

If it doesn’t feel like it’s been very long since Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin were playing for Iowa at the Final Four, it’s because it hasn’t been long. In fact, the Hawkeyes faced off against South Carolina in the national title game just 50 days ago. Not even two months later and the two former teammates squared off against each other for the first time as pros. On Saturday, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever traveled to Las Vegas to face off against Kate Martin, Megan Gustafson and the Aces. The Aces picked up the 99-80 victory, but that isn’t the only game those three former Hawkeyes ha...

Just like that, all will be quiet at Duane Banks Field next week. The Iowa Baseball team entered the season ranked in the top 25 by multiple media outlets and had aspirations of not only winning the Big Ten, but potentially hosting an NCAA Tournament Regional. The 54 game season raced by and last Thursday, the Hawkeyes watched their season come to a close with a loss to Illinois at the Big Ten Tournament. A mix of inconsistency on the mound, injuries and bad luck led the demise of the Hawkeyes season. Instead of discussing the upcoming NCAA Tournament, Iowa is looking to turn the page to next ...

The year for Rick Heller and Co. has been one that has gone far different than many predicted. One that has failed to meet the lofty expectations placed on them by themselves and the media. Despite that, they arrived in Omaha this week hoping to put the entire regular season behind them and create some magic on the diamond where dreams come true every year. Unfortunately, their shot at a magical run got off to the wrong start. Coming into the game, Jack Young had given up just nine walks in 31.0 innings of work. In the bottom of the tenth, he issued three straight walks and Stephen Hrustich wa...
