Motley Crue’s hugely popular album Dr. Feelgood turns 35 this year, and the band is admittedly in awe of the milestone. “Where the fuck did the time go?” Tommy Lee declared while discussing the anniversary with Allison Hagendorf. “I mean, our girlfriends and wives are just barely older than that,” chimed in Nikki Sixx, drawing laughs from the other members of the band. “I guess they’re vintage too now. Finally!” Reflecting on the creation of Dr. Feelgood, Sixx soon took a more reflective tone. READ MORE: Motley Crue Albums Ranked “You know what was great about that record? [Producer] Bob Rock ...

Nikki Sixx has admitted that he still feels bad about taking John 5 from Rob Zombie. In October 2022, John 5 was announced as the replacement for Mick Mars, who was retiring from touring after 40 years with the Crue. John 5 had history with Sixx, having worked with him the band Sixx:A.M. and various other projects, so he was a natural choice to join Motley’s ranks. Only problem, he was still a member of Zombie’s band at the time. “It was one of those things that I feel bad about,” Sixx admitted during a recent appearance on the Mistress Carrie Podcast (as transcribed by Blabbermouth). “It wasn...

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil took a serious looking fall during the band’s performance in Atlantic City on Friday night (May 3). The group was only a few songs into its tour-launching show when they began rocking through their 1987 tune “Wild Side.” As Motley Crue tore through the song’s famous opening riffs, Neil began skipping from one side of the stage to the other. The frontman then tripped, sending him sprawling face first onto the stage. Impressively, Neil didn’t let the wipe out keep him down for long. The singer was back on his feet and ready to rock again when “Wild Side”’s vocals ...

You can see the set list and videos from the performance below. The rockers’ 14-song set was almost the same as the one they’ve been using since embarking on the Stadium Tour in 2022, though they swapped “The Dirt (Est. 1981)” for “Dogs of War” and omitted the Dr. Feelgood single “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away).” In its place, they played Too Fast for Love‘s “On With the Show” for the fi...

Vince Neil doesn’t expect Motley Crue to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame any time soon. Despite being eligible since 2007, the hugely popular band has never even received a nomination. That hasn’t stopped the Crue’s fans from championing their cause – or the musicians themselves from pondering the possibility. “I think it’d be pretty cool to be inducted,” Neil admitted during an interview with WMMR Philadelphia, “but we’ll probably be dead when they induct us.” Drummer Tommy Lee, who was also part of the interview, revealed conflicted feelings towards the Hall, alluding to many o...

Vince Neil revealed the downside to opening for Van Halen with Sammy Hagar during his ‘90s solo period. The singer had split with Motley Crue after being accused of having lost interest in making music. In a recent interview with the Outsider podcast (video below), he was asked if it had been difficult to head out as a solo artist in 1992. “No – it was great!” Neil said. “I opened for Van Halen, my first tour as a solo artist. … It was pretty cool. The show is set to take place two days after Motley Crue completes their two-night stand in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to mark the beginning of their 2024 tour dates. This isn’t Motley Crue’s first small-scale secret show. Last June, the band played ...

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil has a simple declaration for the critics who have tried to write them off for decades: “You can’t kill us!” Neil and bassist Nikki Sixx recently spoke to UCR’s Matt Wardlaw about Motley Crue’s new single, “Dogs of War,” out today. You can listen to part of the conversation below. The defiant track marks the first Motley Crue song since 2019 and their first with guitarist John 5, who replaced founding guitarist Mick Mars in 2022. The song switches between grinding alt-metal riffs and eerie, melodic verses, and in the chorus Neil sings, “Don’t let them take the cr...
