In her newsletter "On the JLo" which she sent to fans on Friday she revealed the tour was off. "I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn't do this if I didn't feel that it was absolutely necessary," Lopez wrote. "I promise I will make it up t...

Homeless people in Edinburgh are being boarded out of town to make room for Swifties packing the Scottish city to see Taylor Swift perform three shows from June 7 to 9. Housing charity Shelter Scotland told the BBC that people in need of shelter are being shipped out to neighbouring cities because of stiff competition for hotel rooms From June 7-9, when the “Cruel Summer” singer performs at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium. Shelter Scotland director Alison Watson called it “a blatant injustice” that people without homes find themselves “in direct competition” with tourists coming to see Swift’s...

Musicians are furious that new tech has gutted their income. Record labels are wary, yet eager to cut deals with ascendant platforms. Fans are delighted to access songs for a pittance, even as they're screwing over beloved artists. The fears about today's streaming economy echo the existential panic when Napster debuted in 1999. The peer-to-peer service — where fans swapped catalogs of MP3 song files — walloped the record business. It helped demolish billions in label revenue, forcing a sclerotic industry to re-assess its entire model. It scrambled loyalties among fans, artists, tech companies...
