Following a weekend that could have sparked a significant amount of controversy after the closest finish in NASCAR history, tensions have mostly eased in the wake of Kyle Larson‘s narrow win over Chris Buescher. Buescher and his chief crew accepted the result of the race after being apprised of the laser technology that went into making the ultimate call. Still, it wasn’t the best look for NASCAR, particularly after images of the start-finish line began making the rounds on social media. It certainly didn’t look like a uniform, straight line all the way down. Even Dale Earnhardt Jr. chimed in ...

Ross Chastain is set to get behind the wheel of a Chevy truck this week at Darlington Raceway, the second start he’ll make this season in the NASCAR Truck Series. Chastain was originally scheduled to make five starts this season in the NASCAR Truck Series. This will be his second of the season after an earlier start at the Circuit of the Americas in March. Chastain finished fifth in that race. Other races Chastain is set to take part in are North Wilkesboro in May, Poc...

After this past Sunday’s AdventHealth 400, Denny Hamlin is ready to anoint Kansas Speedway as arguably the best racetrack for the Next Gen car. Speaking on his “Actions Detrimental” podcast, Hamlin called Kansas a “fantastic race from beginning to end.” “This track just sets up perfectly for the car,” Hamlin said. “I mentioned it after the race that the combination of it all — we have lower horsepower, so we have to run the top for momentum. But there’s opportunities at this racetrack for you to run lower, cut distance off, slide up in front of somebody and then you’re not gonna have a good ru...

Denny Hamlin decided to partake in some Monday Morning Quarterbacking on the latest episode of his Actions Detrimental podcast, regarding the way Chris Buescher raced Kyle Larson on the final lap at Kansas Speedway. Evidently, Hamlin believes Buescher could’ve played his cards differently coming to the checkered flag. He took some time to elaborate on his thoughts, explaining how the No. 17 could’ve ended up in victory lane, instead of Larson. “Yeah, and I think there always is,” Hamlin said, regarding whether there’s anything Buescher could’ve done different. “They’re going to break it down. ...

In the wake of a cheating scandal that has shaken IndyCar ahead of the Indianapolis 500, Roger Penske has decided to suspend Team Penske President, Tim Cindric, among others, for their involvement. Cindric, the father of NASCAR’s Austin Cindric, wheelman of the No. 2 Ford for Team Penske, obviously plays a prominent role in the team’s operations. While Roger Penske found the team had “malicious intent by anyone,” he still made the decision to suspend four key members. “Roger Penske on Tuesday said he has suspended the president of Team Penske along with three others for two races for their rol...

NASCAR Cup Series managing director Brad Moran said Tuesday that the sanctioning body doesn’t use the painted line at racetracks to determine the winner of a photo finish such as the one which took place during this past Sunday’s AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway. Moran, speaking on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, explained that NASCAR has a “laser line that is pencil thin” it uses for photo finishes at the checkered line. “They’re very close to the same but we don’t go off the accuracy of a painter that paints a line on the racetrack,” Moran said, via Kelly Crandall of RACER. “It’s for a visual for ...

After many seasons with NBC Sports, Dale Earnhardt Jr. now has a couple of new homes, where he’ll be broadcasting NASCAR-related content and serving as a member of the booth once again. It was already announced earlier this year that Earnhardt Jr. would be joining Amazon Prime Video when they broadcast some NASCAR races in 2025, but now it’s been revealed that isn’t the only spot he’s landing. Earnhardt Jr. will also join the booth when NASCAR is on TNT Sports next season. Adam Stern of the Sports Business Journal helped confirm the news on social media, adding that the NASCAR Hall of Famer wi...

Stewart-Haas Racing is at least listening to offers to sell charters, per a report from Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. Stewart-Haas, co-owned by NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart and Haas Automation founder Gene Haas, has not yet renewed its deal with Ford for the 2025 Cup Series season. Pockrass noted that the four-car race team has sent prospective buyers information on what it would take to purchase a charter. Stewart-Haas underwent a change of scenery this past offseason following the retirements of Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola. Josh Berry pilots the No. 4, Noah Gragson drives the No. 10, ...

Denny Hamlin is doing some sleuthing, believing the 0.001 seconds that separated Kyle Larson and Chris Buescher on the final lap at Kansas Speedway seems a little fishy. During his latest Actions Detrimental podcast episode, Hamlin explained why he believes the margin of victory was simply made up by NASCAR, and that the No. 5 and the No. 17 might’ve finished in a dead-tie, unwilling to trust the photo produced by the governing body. “I almost feel like the 0.001 is just a made up number at this point,” Hamlin exclaimed. “Like, how can they say it’s 0.001, if the electronics say the other way ...

A NASCAR spokesman took to X on Tuesday to respond to Denny Hamlin’s call for the sanctioning body to improve the quality of its cameras in the aftermath of the photo finish during this past Sunday’s AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway. NASCAR spokesman Mike Forde said that the quality of the photo comes down to several factors. “Good ?/comment here from @dennyhamlin. He’s not alone,” Forde wrote. “The quality of the photo has many factors: sunlight (which is why the Derby photo was clearer), humidity (it rained earlier), distance from S/F line (the cam is on the cold side of PR). Here are two...
