Ukrainians see tense relations with Poland, namely the ongoing blockade by Polish farmers, as a "foreign" or "external" factor with the most negative influence on Ukraine, according to a survey by Razumkov Center published on April 18. The poll specifically examined events outside of Ukraine, thus excluding Russia's ongoing full-scale invasion of the country. On a scale from 1 to 5, with number 1 meaning "no impact" and number 5 denoting "a very strong negative impact," the respondents ranked the Polish blockade at 4.5. Only 45% of Ukrainians said they believe the war will end with Ukraine restoring its 1991 borders, the Ukrainian media outlet NV reported on April 4, citing a poll conducted by the International Republican Institute (IRI). The share of Ukrainians who believe the West is tired of supporting Ukraine has risen from 30% to 44% in just four months, according to a poll published by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) on Feb. 27. At the end of 2022, only 15% of Ukrainians believed the West was tired of Ukraine and was weakening its support. The figure reached 30% by October 2023, KIIS said. The poll asked respondents which statement they agreed with more: "the West is getting tired of Ukraine and its support is weak, it wants to press for Ukraine to make concessions with Russia," or "the West continues...

Close to 50% of Poles believe that a Russian attack on Poland is "likely," according to a survey released by the Polish media outlet RMF24 on Feb. 22. The survey results correspond with growing concerns that the West doesn't take the risk of a potential war between Russia and NATO in the near future seriously. NATO militaries have strengthened their capacity and preparedness since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but NATO officials have warned in recent months that such preparations may not be enough to avert a continent-wide war. The 47% of Polish respondents who said...

An average of only 10% of Europeans believe that Ukraine can ultimately defeat Russia, according to a poll released on Feb. 21 by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). Around 20% of respondents said they thought Russia would win the war. The findings correspond with the war appearing to enter a new critical phase for Ukraine, as U.S. aid has been stalled in Congress for months, and Russia has increasingly gained the initiative on the battlefield, illustrated by Russia's capture of the critical front-line city of Avdiivka on Feb. 17. The poll was conducted across 12 European countri...
