Tony Vitello and the Tennessee Volunteers played the SEC Baseball Tournament with a reckless abandon, and it helped them capture the title over the LSU Tigers. Billy Amick’s three-run home run in the top of the third inning was the play of the game that put Tennessee ahead for good, as the Volunteers never looked back. The win was fresh o...

The SEC Tournament final started off with a couple deep shots past the outfield wall before pitching took over, but eventually Tennessee cruised to a 4-3 win over LSU. The Volunteers claimed their second conference tournament title in the last three years, following a 16-year drought up until 2022. But LSU actually struck first in the championship game, doing so in the bottom of the first inning. The Tigers got onto the scoreboard with a two-out rally following a terrific at-bat from first baseman Jared Jones. Jones worked the count full, then found a pitch he liked to blast his 26th home run ...

With this season included, Tennessee has reached the SEC Tournament title game in the three of the past four seasons. After Tennessee’s 6-5 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday, a reporter asked Volunteers head coach Tony Vitello if he can appreciate the program’s recent success. “Not really,” Vitello said. “There’s been so much emotion poured out there the last two nights, and we’ve kind of finished later at night. Then, you’re preparing for the next day because it comes pretty quick. This was a little quicker turnaround. It will be even quicker tomorrow. It’s a fun game to be a part of.” Try Fubo...

A lot of firsts have already occurred in Hoover this week, with drama unfolding at the SEC Baseball Tournament. Christian Moore may have produced another, hitting a home run over the batter’s eye on Saturday against Tennessee. If you ask the SEC Network broadcast crew, they have never seen anyone hit a ball that far. Moore was down 2-0 in the count and was apparently ready for the high fastball coming his way. Going over 113 miles per hour off the bat, the home run wound up going 441 feet. An absolute no-doubter from Moore to give Tennessee a 5-2 lead. Try Fubo for FREE today and don’t miss an...
