Courteney Cox has recreated her dance moves from Bruce Springsteen‘s 1984 “Dancing in the Dark” music video, posting a new clip to her social media. In the clip, the actress dances along to the Tik Tok trend in which users ask their moms or other mother figures in their lives to dance like they did in the ’80s. Cox starts out dancing to Bronski Beat’s “Smalltown Boy,” but then the music switches to “Dancing in the Dark” and Cox unzips her hoodie to reveal a Born in the U.S.A.shirt. Cox was just 20 years old when she appeared in Springsteen’s music video, which was shot at the Saint Paul Civic ...

Patrick Carney of the Black Keys says his band “got fucked,” a reference to the recent news that their North American tour was canceled and they split from their management. Carney, who has not made a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, in close to a year, posted a message about the circumstances: “We got fucked. I’ll let you all know how so it doesn’t happen to you. Stay tuned.” Last month, it was announced without explanation that the Keys’ entire upcoming tour, which was scheduled to begin Sept. 17, was canceled. It was speculated that the reason for the cancelation was low ticket sales, ...

A lot of pieces had to fall into place for Pearl Jam to release their classic track “Better Man.” In a recent conversation with Rick Beato, producer Brendan O’Brien detailed how the song came together. “I made a comment early on… really the first day on the job,” he explained, recalling the first time he heard Pearl Jam play “Better Man” in their rehearsal space. “That sounds great. That’s a hit. That’s awesome,” O’Brien declared at the time. “And everybody just kind of goes, ‘Ugh.’ And I just went, ‘Oh, I have said the wrong thing.’” Part of Pearl Jam’s uneasiness with “Better Man” was that i...

Duff McKagan continues to insist that he inspired The Simpsons’ Duff Beer. “So I was Duff, the King of Beers,” the Guns N’ Roses bassist explained to Stereogum. “But this is 1988, 1989 and our management, I remember they called me and said some arthouse-like cartoon wants to use your name as the beer, like a college arthouse cartoon. There weren’t any adult cartoons at this point.” McKagan agreed and initially didn’t think much of it. “I didn’t know about branding or anything like that, but that show took off,” he explained. “And then they started selling merch and stuff. I never went after hi...

The Who’s Roger Daltrey has spotted a trend among most major artists, and he doesn’t like it one bit. During a recent conversation with Billboard, the legendary rocker condemned acts who publicly share their set lists. “Too many people reveal songs,” Daltrey declared. “There’s no surprises left with concerts these days, ’cause everybody wants to see the set list.” Daltrey’s reasoning is simple: If fans go online and lookup an artist’s typical set list, they’ll go into a concert with preconceived expectations on what they’ll hear. Pete Townshend is feeling more like a substitute musician in the Who these days. “It’s a group of musicians that Roger [Daltrey] has chosen,” the guitarist told Mojoin May [via rockcelebrities.net]. “I have not chosen any of the musicians I tour with – not even [drummer] Zak [Starkey]. When Roger brings me onstage I am filling the shoes of a guy called Frank Simes, who Roger tours with solo, and who is a guitar player and musical director.” But, he clarified, that doesn’t mean he’s unwilling to participate.
