Pro basketball player Ja Morant is under investigation by Colorado police after the Memphis Grizzlies star posted an Instagram Live video in which he displayed what appeared to be a gun while at a nightclub. The department is investigating whether Morant might have broken any gun laws.

The incident happened at Shotgun Willie’s, a “gentleman’s club.”

Colorado is an open-carry state, although there are exceptions to the law, including the carrying of a firearm on federal property. It is illegal in Colorado to possess a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

NBA rules prohibit a player from possessing a firearm while on team property or traveling on team business.

Morant is away from the team as the NBA conducts its investigation.
