Jalen Ramsey Could Help The Dolphins Contend In 2023

Jalen Ramsey is headed to the Miami Dolphins – and he can make a huge difference in the AFC East next year.

There won’t be much risk as it will only cost the team a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Most importantly, it will now give the Dolphins one of the best cornerback duos in the NFL – with Ramsey joining Xavien Howard.

They will both have their work cut out having to play both the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills twice each in 2023.

Fans will want to get their popcorn ready to see Ramsey matchup against star wide receivers in Stefon Diggs and Garrett Wilson.

In 2022, Pro Football Focus (PFF) rated Ramsey as the third-best corner in the NFL.

So the Dolphins will hope the six-time pro bowler will improve the team’s subpar defense from last year.

And if the team continues to move the ball on the offensive side of the field the way it did in 2022, it could contend for not only the division – but for the Super Bowl as well.

But winning the AFC East won’t be easy, with Aaron Rodgers potentially coming to the Jets and the expectation that the Bills will have a dynamic offense again in 2023.

That said, as long as the Dolphins stay healthy, it has just as good as a chance to win the division as anyone.

Also, the Dolphins have just under $12 million in cap space currently.

With free agency set for 2026, Ramsey’s cap number is $17 million this year, according to Over the Cap.

For the 2023 draft, the Dolphins will not be on the clock until pick 51.
