Nevada’s new state law removes the statutes of limitations for sexual assault cases and has allowed multiple women to come forward and sue Bill Cosby, 85, for allegedly raping and drugging them.
Nine women in Nevada filed a lawsuit against The Cosby Show star for alleged sexual assault that happened between 1979 and 1992 in Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe homes, dressing rooms and hotels.
“For years I have fought for survivors of sexual assault and today is the first time I will be able to fight for myself,” Lise Lotte-Lublin said, who is one of the women suing Cosby. “With the new law change, I now have the ability to take my assailant Bill Cosby to court. My journey has just begun, but I am grateful for this opportunity to find justice.”
The lawsuit states that Lotte-Lublin, then 23, was tricked by Cosby when he claimed to be her acting and modeling mentor and persuaded her to go with him to his Las Vegas hotel, where he gave her two drinks to help her relax.
The other eight women involved in the lawsuit are Lili Bernard, Janice Baker-Kinney, Rebecca Cooper, Janice Dickinson, Linda Kirkpatrick, Angela Leslie, Pam Joy Abeyta and Heidi Thomas. They are suing for damages based on sexual assault, battery, assault, infliction of emotional distress and false imprisonment.

Cosby’s rape allegations first emerged in 2014, with the earliest case dating back to 1965. Since then, more women and even fellow celebrities have gradually come forward to speak against the 85-year-old, including Dickinson, supermodel Beverly Johnson, Louisa Moritz and Michelle Hurd. With the nine additional women suing the comedian, a total of nearly 70 women have now accused him of rape and sexual assault.
In 2021, he was released from prison after serving three years for a sexual assault conviction against basketball administrator Andrea Constad. Last year, a jury awarded Judy Huth $500,000 for Cosby allegedly molesting her at the Playboy Mansion when she was 16 years old.
Cosby’s attorney, Andrew Wyatt, claims that the sexual allegations made against the comedian were made for “addiction to massive amounts of media attention and greed.”
“From this day forward, we will not continue to allow these women to parade various accounts of an alleged allegation against Mr. Cosby anymore without vetting them in the court of public opinion and inside of the courtroom,” Wyatt added.
