Ingredients for 4 people:

½ baguette stick (approx. 180 g; from the previous day)
400 ml milk
3 eggs (size M)
1 sachet of sauce powder (vanilla flavour; for ½ litre; for cooking)
80 g brown sugar
250 g strawberries
25 g flaked almonds
150 ml orange juice (freshly squeezed)
1 tsp grated orange peel
Butter for the moulds

Preparation:

1. Cut the baguette into thin slices and place in buttered ramekins. Whisk together the milk, eggs, sauce powder and 30 g brown sugar. Drizzle over the
bread slices and leave to soak for approx. 10 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, wash and clean the strawberries and cut into small pieces. Sprinkle the casseroles with flaked almonds and bake in a preheated oven (E.-Herd: 175°C/gas: Level 2) for approx. 20 minutes.

3. Caramelise the remaining brown sugar in a pan until golden. Deglaze with
orange juice, add the orange zest and simmer until the caramel has dissolved.
Pour the hot caramel over the strawberries, mix carefully and serve with the poor knights.
