Gisele Bündchen has opened up about her struggles while dealing with her divorce from Tom Brady and taking care of her two ailing parents.

“It’s been very tough on my family. It’s been a lot — in every area of my life,” Bündchen told People.

Brady and Bündchen formally ended their marriage in October 2022, following the football player’s decision to “un-retire” from the NFL. The couple was married for 13 years.

While the two were finalizing the divorce, Bündchen’s parents were dealing with health issues.

“I feel like whenever it rains, it pours. With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can given what happens in our surroundings,” she said.

The former Victoria’s Secret model discussed the various tools she uses when life becomes overwhelming. After deciding to stop drinking alcohol two years ago, she said she became much more “sharp” and “present,” which she believes kept her grounded.

“It’s socially accepted to have a glass of wine. And people even say, ‘Oh, it’s healthy for you,'” she explained. “Well, it’s not healthy for me. If you want to ask of your body what I ask of my body, which is a lot, I can’t be having all these things because they add up.”

Bündchen also said that self-care techniques, including meditation, have helped her navigate through difficult times.

“When you feel good, you’re a better mom, you’re a better friend, you’re calmer, you’re more patient, you’re more loving,” she said.

Bündchen did not comment on the status of her relationship with Brady, nor on her parents’ health.
