‘Euphoria’ Star Angus Cloud’s Cause Of Death Revealed To Be Accidental Drug Overdose

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 04: Angus Cloud attends the LA Premiere of HBO's

Euphoria actor Angus Cloud died from an accidental overdose on July 31, according to a newly released report from the medical examiner.

He suffered from acute intoxication from a combination of fentanyl, cocaine, benzodiazepine, methamphetamine and more.

Cloud, 25, who played Fezco on Max’s Euphoria, had struggled with the death of his father, who had been buried a week prior after his death from mesothelioma. Cloud’s mother found him without a pulse at their home in Oakland, California.

Cloud’s family released a statement shortly after word broke.

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend…Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence,” the statement read.

While Cloud’s mother acknowledged that her son had his own mental challenges, she maintained that he did not intend to end his life.

“When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he said he would see me in the morning,” her post continued. “I don’t know if or what he may have put in his body after that. I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep, and didn’t wake up.”

Cloud was scouted for his Euphoria role on the streets of New York City when a casting associate took note of him. “In my mind, I was like, they stopped me because I look like I could be a star? Then I’m like, no, it’s because I look like I could be a drug dealer,” he recalled.
