Melania Trump had “quietly” renegotiated her prenup with Donald Trump – for the third time.

As has long been rumored, Melania has been in a tough negotiation with her husband to improve the conditions of her agreement with the notoriously stingy ex-president.

Page Six reports that this was not only specifically because of Trump, 77, potentially serving a second term in the White House but also due to his recent legal battles.

These legal troubles include potential payouts in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ (D-New York) $240 million civil case against Trump and his real estate business, and the court order for him to pay $5 million toE. Jean Carrol for defamation.

Trump pleaded not guilty to James’ case and is currently in the damages phase of Carroll’s second defamation case against him.

Although Trump remains wealthy, the legal bills and judgments against him remain significant, and the renegotiated preup would ensure that should the couple split one day, Melania and her son, Barron Trump, 17, would be provided for.

This was at least the third time Melania had renegotiated the terms of her marriage.

In the 2020 book The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, Washington Post writer Mary Jordan reported that Melania had renegotiated the couple’s marital agreement in 2017. This was at the same time that she had delayed her move into the White House.

Based on over 100 interviews, the book reported, “Melania wanted proof in writing that when it came to financial opportunities and inheritance, Barron would be treated as more of an equal to Trump’s oldest three children.”

Stephanie Grisham wrote her own book about the then-first lady, I’ll Take Your Questions Now: What I Saw in the Trump White House, in which she described Melania as “A doomed French queen. Dismissive. Defeated. Detached.”

Melania’s office declaredin a statement that blasted the book: “Through mistruth and betrayal, [Grisham] seeks to gain relevance and money at the expense of Mrs. Trump.”

Trump has said that Melania is his “secret weapon in politics.”

Melania has been very quiet about Donald’s recent legal troubles.
