Nikki Haley Responds After Trump Calls Her A ‘Birdbrain’ & Sends Her A Birdcage

BEDMINSTER, NEW JERSEY - JULY 28: Former U.S. President Donald Trump reacts to a putt on the 15th green during the pro-am prior to the LIV Golf Invitational - Bedminster at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster on July 28, 2022 in Bedminster, New...

Republican presidential candidate and former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley posted on X a picture of a bird cage and birdseed. She said the Trump campaign had left it outside of her hotel room door – clearly a reference to Trump’s previous insult.

Haley captioned the photo, “After a day of campaigning, this is the message waiting for me outside my hotel room,” followed by the hashtags #PrettyPatheticTryAgain and #YouJustMadeMyCaseForMe.

Donald Trump had previously called Haley a “birdbrain” after the GOP second debate, in which many pundits had declared her the winner.

The debate was last week at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California.

While many across the internet have accused, Haley of fabrication journalists confirmed the Trump campaign was responsible for the stunt.

Haley continues to poll in the single digits, and Trump is significantly ahead, polling at 54% among Republican candidates. Despite his tremendous lead, Trump continues to make jabs at the former cabinet member. He took to his social media platform, TruthSocial, and, in a lengthy post, declared of Haley’s “her words mean nothing… Birdbrain doesn’t have the TALENT or TEMPERAMENT to do the job,” he wrote.

Trump had used the insult “birdbrain” to describe Haley in a TruthSocial post where he assessed the Republican candidates’ performance at the debate. He declared in his review, “Nikki ‘Birdbrain’ Haley was exposed for her caustic DISLOYALTY & LIES about the Republican Party, and me.”

Of the other GOP candidates, he praised Gov. Doug Burgum (R-North Dakota), Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) and Vivek Ramaswamy for their performance in the debate and said he looked forward to their support.

He bashed former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and his former Vice President Mike Pence and wrote he thought Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Florida), whom he nicknamed “Ron Desanctimonious” (“sanctimonious” meaning “hypocritically pious or devout”) was near his end.
