After sharing their support for the Palestinians on social media, model Gigi Hadid and her family have reportedly received death threats.

Hadid, whose father is Palestinian, has vocalized her stance on the Israel-Hamas war since it began. She shared a graphic about the conflict to her Instagram story over the weekend.

“There is nothing Jewish about the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinians,” the post read. “Condemning the Israeli government is not antisemitic and supporting Palestinians is not supporting Hamas.”

The Israeli government was quick to condemn Hadid, reposting the graphic on the State of Israel Instagram account and tagging the model.

“Have you been sleeping the past week? Or are you just fine turning a blind eye to Jewish babies being butchered in their homes?” the account wrote. “Your silence has been very clear about where you stand. We see you.”

Hadid then shared another post, sharing her condolences to her loved ones in both Palestine and Israel.

“My thoughts are with all those affected by this unjustifiable tragedy, and every day that innocent lives are taken by this conflict — too many of which are children,” Hadid wrote. “I have deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation, it’s a responsibility I hold daily.”

“I also feel a responsibility to my Jewish friends to make it clear, as I have before,” she continued. “While I have hopes and dreams for Palestinians, none of them include the harm of a Jewish person… I know my words will never be enough or heal the deep wounds of so many, but I pray for the safety of innocent lives, always.”

Hadid’s father, Mohamed Hadid, also shared a controversial statement on Instagram, blaming the Hamas attack on Israel.

“This less of a human and Bibi [Netanyahu]**and the far right government of this Zionist State is 100 percent responsible for the creation of this massive escalation between the occupied and the occupier,” Mohamed wrote, alongside a photo of the far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir**.

Two days later, he posted a picture of Netanyahu.

“To be clear,” he said, “I condemn the killing and hostage-taking or abusing, torturing of civilians. Of Arab Muslims, Jews or Christians. And complete disapproval of the treatment of the occupation against the occupied.”

Hadids’ comments have sparked death threats from social media users. Family members have reportedly been forced to change their phone numbers after they were leaked online.
