Rep. Lauren Boebert Draws Controversy For Spending Campaign Cash At Ex Boyfriend’s Bar

WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 29: U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) questions Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young during a House Committee on the Budget hearing The Presidents Fiscal Year 2023 Budget in the Canon House Office...

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado)’s reelection campaign spent a substantial sum of money at a bar that is co-owned by a man with whom she was seen engaging in physical contact during a recent performance of Beetlejuice in Denver.

Last month, Boebert and her date were expelled from a performance of Beetlejuice because of their distracting and inappropriate behavior.

According to the latest campaign finance records for the Colorado congresswoman, a payment of $317.48 was made at Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar in Aspen, Colorado. in late July. This establishment is co-owned by Quinn Gallagher, who was with Boebert during the September incident at the theater.

Amid a crowd that included families with children, Boebert and Gallagher were captured on camera gripping each other. Reports suggest that Boebert was also vaping and causing disruption. As a result of this behavior, they were asked to leave.

The congresswoman confirmed that she had a brief romantic involvement with Gallagher, who co-owns a bar in Aspen. Following the controversy surrounding their Beetlejuice antics, they split up.

At first, Boebert denied the charges that she had acted inappropriately, but later on, she apologized after footage of the incident surfaced.

Her affiliation with Gallagher and Hooch, a bar that caters to the LGBTQ community and hosts drag performances, proved to be problematic for Boebert, who has openly criticized drag performances.

Boebert’s campaign manager, Drew Sexton, attempted to damage control by issuing a statement. “Meeting with donors and covering their food and beverage costs at a popular local establishment of their choosing is a standard campaign procedure,” he said in a statement.

The money spent at Hooch was categorized as “event catering” by the campaign.

Meanwhile, Boebert has said that she and Gallagher are not together anymore –  because he is a Democrat.
