Former Home Improvement star Zachery Ty Bryan has pleaded guilty to felony assault that occurred in July.

He was charged with domestic violence after police in Eugene, Oregon, received a report about a physical dispute.

Bryan faced a potential 19- to 20-month prison sentence by accepting the plea deal and is required to avoid any contact with the victim.

He pleaded guilty as part of a deal that helped him avoid significant jail time. Bryan will serve just seven days in jail.

According to his lawyer, Bryan “believes this is the manner he could best resolve this to avoid further trauma to his family.”

Bryan will need to meet several conditions, which include alcohol and substance abuse treatment and no alcohol and drug use moving forward.

If Bryan violates any of these conditions, he would be subject to serve 19 to 20 months in prison.

When the Eugune police department arrested Bryan, he was charged with fourth-degree assault and third-degree robbery charges, in addition to a misdemeanor claim of harassment. Eugene police officers responded to a physical dispute between a male, Bryan, and an unidentified adult female at a North Eugene residence.

Bryan has been in a relationship with Johnnie Faye Cartwright, and the two have three children together. They previously had a domestic dispute in 2020, which resulted in him pleading guilty to two misdemeanors, menacing and fourth-degree assault.

In addition to domestic violence troubles, Bryan has four DUI arrests.

He is best known for playing Brad on the hit 90s sitcom, Home Improvement, which starred Tim Allen.
