Gisele Bündchen reveals seeing parents’ health battles drives her to want to live as long as possible

Gisele Bündchen wants to live as long as she can after watching her parents battle health issues.

The Brazilian supermodel, 43, who has transformed herself into a wellness guru and cookbook author, said she agrees that all the money in the world can’t buy health.

She made the admission in a cover interview for the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar, in which her interviewer said the sight of her parents grapple with health issues as they’ve gotten older has been a factor in her campaigning for healthy eating.

Gisele, who has children Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11 with her former NFL star ex-husband Tom Brady, 46, said: “I want to live the longest feeling the best that I can, but for me to achieve this, I have to make decisions today.

“You can have all the money in the world. If you don’t have your health, it’s not possible to buy it back.”

Gisele moved to Boston and scaled back her runway and campaign work following her marriage in 2009 to then New England Patriots quarterback Tom, but is now back in the spotlight as she is about to publish her latest cookbook ‘Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul’.

Co-written with veteran cookbook author Elinor Hutton, it is aimed at people with families who want to add more nutritious meals to their weeks.

Gisele now eats as little meat as she can, and said: “I can offer some things I’ve learned and that have helped me and my family,” she tells me. “I’m just a mom who has a very busy life, and I think a lot of women can relate to that.”

Along with healthy eating, Gisele’s daily routine usually starts at 5am when she walks her dogs, followed by meditation.
