Bobby Berk has insisted his decision to quit 'Queer Eye' had nothing to do with a feud with his co-star Tan France.
The interiors expert is the only member of the Fab Five who won't be returning for a ninth season of the hit Netflix makeover show, and rumours suggested his exit could have been linked to a falling out with Tan after Bobby unfollowed him on Instagram last year - however, the TV star is adamant the situation has nothing to do with the show.
He told Vanity Fair: "There was a situation, and that's between Tan and I, and it has nothing to do with the show. It was something personal that had been brewing - and nothing romantic, just to clarify that.
"Should I have unfollowed Tan? No. Maybe I should have just muted him. But that day, I was angry, and that's the end of it. We became like siblings, and siblings are always going to fight."
He insisted the pair have already taken steps to mend the rift and he expects they will be back on good terms very soon.
Bobby went on to dismiss another rumour which suggested he quit because he was expected to do more work than his co-stars.
He added: "You will have never found me quoted as saying that I have the most important job and I do the most work. All five of us are of equal importance ... I'm leaving something that is a huge part of my life. Even though it's my decision, it still wasn't an easy one."
Bobby explained the cast previously thought they would be ending the show after eight seasons, and he was surprised to find out Netflix wanted them back for more because he'd already made other plans.
He said: "We took pictures and cried. We thought we were done. Mentally and emotionally, I thought we all moved on. I know I did, and I started planning other things."
However, when the offer came in, Bobby decided to move on with his career instead of returning to the show.
He added: "With only one of us not coming back, Netflix felt [it] could recast one person.
"There were definitely emotions. But each one of us had our reasons why we did what we did. I can't be mad - for a second I was. All the plans that I had made when I thought we weren't coming back, I just wasn't willing to change those.
"I would have had to pump the brakes on multiple other projects that are already in process. We had mentally just prepared ourselves to move on - that's why I left."
