Gero Onsen, famous as one of the three most famous hot springs in Japan, has many fans both in Japan and overseas as a "beauty bath" due to its high-quality spring water. Suimeikan, founded in 1932, is a long-established inn that has received high praise nationwide.

It is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from the nearest station. In this article, we will take a closer look at Suimeikan.

Please see the article below for a summary of Gero Onsen.

Seiranso: A detached house where you can experience traditional Japanese beauty

This sukiya-style house, which has been used as an inn since 1953, has been restored to its original layout. There are a total of five guest rooms with indoor Koya-cypress baths, and two with outdoor baths.

Our dedicated head chef will prepare special meals using seasonal ingredients.

Choose from 5 types of dinner including Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine

At Suimeikan, you can choose from five types of dinner. No matter which you choose, you can enjoy carefully prepared dishes that make the most of local seasonal ingredients.

Relax in-room dining

You can enjoy our chef's carefully prepared kaiseki cuisine, made with carefully selected seasonal ingredients, in the comfort of your own room. Enjoy the cuisine that our executive chef is so proud of, with a touch of the colors of the four seasons.

The menu is created by our head chef according to the season, so even repeat guests can enjoy different meals depending on the time of their stay.

We also have a menu that allows you to enjoy Hida beef, a specialty of the Hida region, cooked in four different ways: as steak, nigiri, in a small pot, or soft-boiled.

Enjoy Japanese cuisine at the restaurant "Kitano Ryo"

Using seasonal ingredients from Hida throughout the year, we offer multi-course meals using our specialty Hida beef as well as wild plants and mushrooms. Please enjoy seasonal ingredients blessed by the rich nature and environment of Gero along with a variety of fine alcoholic beverages, including local sake.

"Hida Beef Hitsumabushi," made with plenty of sliced Hida beef, is only available at lunchtime.

After enjoying the sweetness of the Hida beef, you can enjoy it with condiments and a light broth to finish off the meal.

French cuisine at the European restaurant "Baden Baden"

In a brick-style restaurant with a calm and relaxed atmosphere, you can enjoy a full-course French meal made with plenty of Hida ingredients. Please enjoy our proud Hida beef dishes.

The Hida beef burger, limited to 20 burgers available at lunchtime, is also popular.

If you're in the mood for Chinese food, head to the China Room "Ryuyuri"

Some guests may be surprised to find Chinese cuisine at a hot spring inn, but at Suimeikan you can enjoy Cantonese cuisine that makes use of ingredients from Hida.

This restaurant is open until midnight, so it's a great place to stop by when you feel a bit hungry.

You can enjoy dandan noodles and hot and sour soup noodles made with Hida's specialty natto-eating pork (natto-eating pork).

Enjoy a Japanese-Western fusion banquet at the dining kitchen "Tokiwa" with an open kitchen

Our dining restaurant features open kitchens serving both Japanese and Western cuisine, and serves freshly cooked, piping hot food.

Please enjoy our Japanese and Western fusion banquet cuisine accompanied by immersive sounds and aromas.

Enjoy your breakfast buffet-style

There are about 30 different kinds of Japanese and Western dishes on offer. Each dish is served in a small bowl, so you can enjoy your breakfast according to your preferences.

The most popular item is the French toast, made with Hida milk and local eggs. The baguette French toast is moist and fluffy. The chef cooks it right in front of you to perfection.

*If you have booked dinner in your room, breakfast will also be served in your room unless you have a special request.

A setting that gives a sense of Japanese culture

Every corner of the hotel is decorated with special attention to detail that will allow you to experience the beauty of Japanese culture.

One of the recommended ways to enjoy Suimeikan is to take a leisurely stroll through the quaint building.

You can see paintings and hanging scrolls by famous artists.

In particular, the spacious Japanese garden, which can be seen from the lobby, shows different faces with each season and is a soothing sight to the eyes and soul of our guests.

Colorful carp swim gracefully in the pond. Some of the carp are estimated to be over 50 years old and over 120 cm long, so please try to find them.

Lobby Lounge "Evian"

You can enjoy an elegant tea time while looking out at the Japanese garden.

Take a moment to relax and enjoy the sight of the carp and ducks frolicking in the waterfall.

We look forward to serving you our popular original matcha tiramisu, skin-beautifying sweets, and light meals.

Noh Stage

One of the most eye-catching features of Suimeikan is the traditional Noh stage.
