Bayern Munich won't rush to find a new coach to replace Thomas Tuchel, who will leave the club at the end of this season.

"We now have a bit of time to look around and we will do so," president Herbert Hainer said after the 2-1 Bundesliga win against RB Leipzig on Saturday.

"We have had three coaches in a short space of time. We want to work with the coach in the long term. We will consider and analyse this very carefully - and hopefully get the right one," he said.

Bayern parted ways with treble winning coach Hansi Flick in 2021 and signed Julian Nagelsmann, who was then replaced by Tuchel in March 2023.

Tuchel has a contract until June 2025 but the club has already announced that he will leave this June.

"It's something we can do better. We want more continuity. That's what we're aiming for," Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said.

There's a lot of speculation about possible new coaches for Bayern.

Bayer Leverkusen helmsman and ex-Bayern midfielder Xabi Alonso is said to be among the favourites with his side set to beat Bayern to the Bundesliga title, while former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is also reportedly a candidate.

Bild newspaper on Sunday, without naming sources, said Nagelsmann returning to Bayern is also not out of the question and the 36-year-old could imagine working for the German champions again.

He was sacked by boardroom duo Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic, who were subsequently fired themselves, so the way is possibly clear - especially as he signed a deal to coach Germany only until the Euros in July.

Flick, who was replaced by Nagelsmann at both Bayern and Germany, fell out with Salihamidzic when he left the Bavarians so could also be an option for a return.

World Cup winnner Joachim Löw has said he is not in the frame.
