Report: 19-year-old Liverpool player is set to make his full debut against Southampton tonight

We are still not sure what to expect for Liverpool’s game later on tonight against Southampton. On the injury front Liverpool have been very quiet. With so many key players still injured, and many others having played a lot of minutes on Sunday, one would imagine the line-up tonight will be very youthful.

On Sunday, Liverpool’s young players proved that they are ready for any challenge Jurgen Klopp throws at them. Coming on against Chelsea, the likes of James McConnell, Jayden Danns and Bobby Clark all made a really good account of themselves.

Now, they will be expected to do the same against Southampton. And according to the latest reports, some of them will not just be coming on. They will be starting instead. And thus making yet another important step in their burgeoning young careers.

Bobby Clark set to make full debut vs Southampton

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Liverpool are expected to hand a full debut to Bobby Clark against Southampton tonight. The 19-year-old midfielder has made nine appearances for Liverpool. However, this game tonight will be his first start for the Reds in the FA Cup.

The only previous appearance Clark has made in the competition for Liverpool was against Arsenal in the third round earlier this year. He was also an unused substitute against Norwich City, in the last round.

Given Liverpool’s injury crisis, it would not be a surprise to see Clark involved from the beginning of the game. The 19-year-old has been really promising every time he has entered the pitch. At academy level, he has been in brilliant form as well.

He absolutely deserves the recognition to start for Liverpool tonight and is definitely ready for that step in his development.
