Just over six months before regional elections for the state government, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is scheduled to visit the Saxon capital Dresden on Thursday.

In the morning, he is to be a guest at Elbe Flugzeugwerke, a company specializing in converting passenger aircraft into cargo planes which works for airlines all over the world.

Scholz then travels to Glashütte, not far from Dresden, to visit the watch manufacturer Nomos. The company is known for its mechanical watches.

In the afternoon, Scholz plans to return to Dresden, where he will meet people involved in the metro_polis democracy project.

Together with Dresden's public transport company, the eponymous association regularly turns a tram into a place for debate, where moderated discussions regularly take place in the last compartment of a moving tram.

Finally, Scholz aims to continue his meetings with the public in the evening in the Kraftwerk Mitte venue, a cultural centre on the edge of the city centre.
