‘Don’t forget’: Jurgen Klopp names the players Liverpool fans really need to remember after last night

Last night was another night to remember for Liverpool fans. It was another really young Liverpool team who took to the field. But again, the young players stepped up and got the job done.

Lewis Koumas did in the first half scoring on his debut for Liverpool with a well-taken goal after causing problems to Southampton’s defence all game. Then Jayden Danns came along and scored a brace with two fantastic finishes to write himself into Anfield folklore for an eternity.

Those two players alongside another fantastic performance by Bobby Clark will grab the headlines for Liverpool. The trio were all terrific, and once again showed the exciting potential of the club’s academy. However, Jurgen Klopp revealed that there are three others the fans also shouldn’t forget about.

Of course, there was another special debut by 16-year-old Trey Nyoni, who even in a few minutes showed his class with some great touches. In the process, he became the second youngest player to feature for the club’s first team. A pretty incredible achievement considering he only arrived at Liverpool from Leicester City last summer.

Speaking in his press conference after the game as per This is Anfield’s YouTube channel, Jurgen Klopp said fans should not forget about Trey Nyoni and three other players.

“Don’t forget Trey Nyoni came on tonight – that looked promising as well. Not in the squad because [they are] injured, Ben Doak, who had already a few really good games for us, and Stefan Bajcetic, same age group. There is a lot to come.”

Both Doak and Bajcetic definitely deserve a mention. They have struggled with injuries this season, but they were fantastic for Liverpool last season. Once they return, as Klopp said, they should not be forgotten about either. The duo are both major talents.
