Report: 36-year-old manager is impressing Liverpool's data analysts but there's one big problem

Liverpool analysts are reportedly impressed with Julian Nagelsmann as a potential manager replacement for Jurgen Klopp, but there’s already a big issue.

The 36-year-old coach is regarded as one of the best in Europe and someone who will influence the managerial world for many decades to come if Nagelsmann can remain at the top of his game.

Currently the manager of Germany heading into this summer’s Euros, Nagelsmann has already taken the reigns at RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich to impressive effect, with the young coach now wanted by Liverpool.

However, according to the Athletic, Nagelsmann’s position with the German national team could be a big problem for Liverpool if they were to move forward with a deal to appoint the 36-year-old.

As per the report, Nagelsmann likely wouldn’t be ready to take over at Liverpool until mid-July at the earliest, effectively missing the start of pre-season should Germany go all the way at the Euros.

Indeed, whilst Nagelsmann would be an ideal candidate to replace Klopp having already impressed Liverpool analysts, the timing of the appointment could be more trouble than it’s actually worth.

And with Germany predicted to go far at this summer’s Euros in their own backyard, appointing Nagelsmann could lead to long-term issues at Liverpool considering how little time the coach will have to prepare for the new season.

At 36, Nagelsmann is very much at the start of his managerial journey, with the German coach already sitting in the hot seat for one of the biggest clubs in Europe and now the most successful national team on the continent.

Yet for Liverpool, Nagelsmann should be considered a final resort option if the Reds fail to convince the likes of Xabi Alonso or Roberto De Zerbi to make the move to Anfield in the summer.

As we know, Nagelsmann’s commitments to Germany will make pre-season difficult, and for a club as big as Liverpool, a new manager will need the entire summer to prepare for the new Premier League campaign.
